Lecture HANSI RABER (AT)

Why every squiggle is a synthesizer.

Oscilloscope Music is audiovisual music, where the visuals are drawn using sound.
In order to get the closest possible correlation between image and sound, the exact same signal
that is connected to the left and right speakers is also connected to an analog oscilloscope’s X and Y inputs, producing complex lissajous images.

Over the span of six years Jerobeam Fenderson and Hansi3D have created ever more elaborate
techniques to explore this largely uncharted field of audiovisual music, resulting in a
full length album, as well as the unique 3D-audio software OsciStudio. In this talk
Hansi will speak about the current state of work, including technical details and how
they shaped their artistic vision.
