Composing in multilayers
In this lecture I will present some of my most important works, that are intermedial in nature and involve composing in multiple layers of mediality in tightly interwoven ways. Apart from my instrumental and electro-acoustic compositional techniques, important aspects of my works are spatiality, sculptural objects that have both a visual and sound-projecting purpose, lights and video. The multilayers are also a way to describe how I work with sounds, how I build textures with acoustic-instrumental and electro-acoustic material. From concepts, to instrumentation, realization and process, I will share the way I approach the creation of intermedial works, opera, and other works for ensembles.
